The Government of Ontario has announced some premium rate changes and a Supplementary Life Insurance (SLI) premium holiday for Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP) retirees and survivors who are enrolled in Post-Retirement Benefit (PRB) plans, where applicable. Changes come into effect on April 1, 2026.

If you are impacted by this increase, updated premium deductions from your monthly pension will be reflected on your April 22, 2026 payroll deposit. ADP will also send you a statement of earnings and deductions by late April.

If your premium deductions have been impacted by this change, you will receive an update in the mail about these rate changes shortly.

Temporary Premium Holiday for Optional Retiree-Paid Supplementary Life Insurance (SLI) Plan

A temporary twelve-month premium holiday will be in effect for retiree-paid Supplementary Life Insurance (SLI) from April 1, 2026. During this period, retirees enrolled in the SLI plan will not be required to pay premiums and will continue to have access to their coverage. The premium holiday does not apply to any other retiree-paid plans including the Optional Upgrade Plans (OUP).
